The sharpener works well for sharpening woodcarving gouges with some manual dexterity. With practice, it provides a good edge on chisels and plane blades. The water trough below the wheel can get filled with steel filings which rust over time. Replacement wheels are available separately. However, some users have reported issues with the stone not being securely tightened on the shaft. The sharpener is not suitable for sharpening drill bits. Overall, the Multi-Sharp 3001 Wetstone Water-Cooled Chisel and Plane Blade Sharpener is an easy-to-use tool that gets the job done effectively.
