Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What is Pyranha Equine Spray and Wipe Fly Repellent made of?
Answer: Pyranha Equine Spray and Wipe Fly Repellent features a water-based formula primarily composed of natural and essential ingredients, including citronella. This composition makes it effective against flies while being gentle on your horse's sensitive skin. Its water base ensures it is dust-free, providing a comfortable application for both horse and rider. The natural citronella scent not only repels insects but is also pleasant, making grooming time more enjoyable. -
Question:
How long does Pyranha Fly Repellent last?
Answer: The Pyranha Fly Repellent is designed to provide long-lasting protection, effectively repelling flies for several hours after application. Factors like weather conditions and the horse's activity level can influence its longevity. Regular application before riding or during outdoor activities can help maintain a protective barrier against pesky insects, making it an ideal choice for competitive riders or for daily use during peak bug seasons. -
Question:
Is Pyranha Equine Spray and Wipe Fly Repellent safe for young horses?
Answer: Yes, Pyranha Fly Repellent is formulated to be safe for use on young horses. The water-based ingredient list minimizes the risk of irritation compared to harsher chemical alternatives. It’s always advisable to conduct a patch test on a small area of your horse's skin first. Utilizing this fly repellent ensures that young horses are protected from flies without compromising their sensitive skin. -
Question:
Can I use this product on other animals?
Answer: While Pyranha Equine Spray and Wipe Fly Repellent is specifically designed for horses, it is also safe for use on other livestock like cattle and dogs. However, it is always best to consult label instructions or a veterinarian before applying it to ensure suitability for other animals. Its effective formula can provide various animals with vital protection against flies, enhancing comfort during warmer months. -
Question:
Does Pyranha Fly Repellent require shaking before use?
Answer: No, Pyranha Fly Repellent does not require shaking before use, making it convenient and hassle-free for application. This feature is particularly beneficial for horse owners who are often busy and may not have time for complicated prep work. Simply pour and wipe on your horse, and you're ready to go, allowing you to spend less time on prep and more time enjoying your riding activities. -
Question:
How do I apply Pyranha Fly Repellent effectively?
Answer: To apply Pyranha Fly Repellent effectively, spray a generous amount directly onto the horse's coat, avoiding sensitive areas like the eyes and mouth. For better application, you can use a cloth to wipe the repellent across the coat and provide even coverage. This method is especially beneficial when targeting specific areas prone to insect activity, greatly enhancing the horse's comfort during rides or while standing in the pasture. -
Question:
How often should I apply the fly repellent?
Answer: The application frequency of Pyranha Fly Repellent depends on factors like environmental conditions and horse activity levels. It is typically recommended to reapply the repellent every few hours, especially during peak fly activity. For eventing riders or those working horses outdoors, applying it before and after workouts can ensure ongoing protection, maximizing comfort and minimizing distractions from persistent flies. -
Question:
Can I use Pyranha Fly Repellent on wet horses?
Answer: While it's best to apply Pyranha Fly Repellent on dry coats for maximum effectiveness, it can still be used on slightly damp horses. Ensure the coat is not soaked; otherwise, the repellent may dilute and lose potency. Applying it on a clean, dry coat ensures an optimal barrier against flies, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of the product and your horse's well-being. -
Question:
Is there an environmental impact when using Pyranha products?
Answer: Pyranha is committed to environmentally friendly practices, and their fly repellent is water-based, significantly reducing harmful runoff compared to petroleum-based sprays. This makes it safer for surrounding flora and fauna. For horse owners conscious of environmental effects, choosing Pyranha products aligns with sustainable practices while ensuring the well-being of both your horse and the ecosystem. -
