The Joyo JGE-01 Sustainer is a device that induces a vibration in an electromagnetic coil inside the device housing and then transfers this to the guitar string allowing for long and sustained tones. This device can be used with electric guitars and basses but cannot be used with classical guitars due to the non-metallic core of the strings. In terms of reception, customers found that there was a learning curve to getting the device to work effectively with customers citing they had trouble getting Consistent sound at first. However, once the technique was mastered, there was a lot of inspiration and artistic ideas that came about from using it. Some customers did find that the product did not meet their requirements and had to be refunded but did mention that it was cheaper than name brand models. Overall, the Joyo JGE-01 Sustainer is a good value alternative to the Ebow and is seen as the best option out of the other 2 brands out there when it comes to sustainers. While there is a learning curve to using the device or getting it to work, when it is used effectively, it can be used to great effect in certain songs and solos.
