Hartke HMHD500 - Bass Combo
The Hartke HD500-Bass Combo is a solid-state preamp and class D power amp with a similar sound to Hartke's LH series amplifier tube preamp. It is powerful enough for medium venues but small enough to fit in a vehicle when out for a gig. While it has an "empty/sterile" sound on its own, the "shape" knob can thicken up the tone. With a tech 21 DI box, the amp can get a very similar tone to Megadeth's David Ellefson. Customers love how powerful it is for its small size and weight, making it perfect for jamming in a garage or acting as a stage monitor. However, some customers wish it had an option to connect an additional, external speaker. One recurring caveat is that at higher volumes, it struggles and compresses the sound.
