Answer: The extractor turns on after approximately 7 seconds when the bathroom light is turned on. When the light is turned off, the extractor will remain on for a period of time (2 minutes - 30 minutes) depending on where you set the dial inside. It is not silent and can be annoying when going to bed. -

If my electrical wiring is on the left-hand side of my extractor hole, can the unit be fitted upside down to accommodate? Or will the writing be upside down?
Answer: Yes, you can install it upside down. The writing will also be upside down, but you can remove the writing to have a blank surface. -

Can I fit this fan into a double glazed bathroom window?
Answer: No, you cannot. The window will be no use once the seal is broken. It is recommended to buy a through wall one with the fitting kit. -

Answer: The item is not suitable for zone 1. It is advisable to check with Expelair directly regarding the transformer at 08443727766. -

If I leave the fan on constantly at the switch, will it turn on/off via the humidistat?
Answer: The fan is designed to turn on when there is moisture in the room and turn off once the moisture is absorbed. However, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for further assistance. -

Does it work on 60 or 50 Hz?
Answer: The fan's voltage is 120V/60Hz. -
Question:
Does it stop flies from coming in?
Answer: It would require an insect screen on the exit vent outside. Having a self-closing louvre vent can also help prevent insects from entering when the fan is off. -
Question:
I installed this item and find that it only works on the switched live, the permanent live neither keeps it on timer or humidistat. What should I do?
Answer: You can wire this with one mains wire to the sensor side. This will automatically power up the fan when the humidity sensor kicks in. You can adjust the sensor's sensitivity and set the overrun time up to 30 minutes. It is recommended to consult a professional electrician to ensure proper installation.
