It explains theories but doesn't provide any hands-on coding experience. The content is solid and progresses naturally, keeping the reader engaged. The concept of semaphores is covered, but the book doesn't make readers an expert on them, giving only the basics concepts. Though the first few chapters may seem a bit slow, the book gains momentum by chapter 8. The modularizing and synchronization were beneficial chapters. The state charts for objects such as queues and semaphores were appreciated. The only negative point brought up was a given example in which there was a deadlock.
