Horror Editorial Review

"The Thing 2011" is a remake of the original 1951 movie that aims to tie in well with the 1982 version. While it has a great cast, it falls short in terms of special effects, both practical and computer-generated. Some writing decisions also left something to be desired. The movie serves as a decent way to kill time, but it doesn't quite live up to the standards set by the original. However, for lovers of horror movies, "The Thing 2011" still provides an enjoyable watch. Pros of "The Thing 2011" Blu-ray: - Ties in well to the 1982 version of "The Thing" - Features a great cast Cons of "The Thing 2011" Blu-ray: - Lacks better and more non-computer generated special effects - Some questionable writing decisions - Special effects fall short compared to films like "Dragon Heart" (1996) and "Jurassic Park" (1993) Overall, "The Thing 2011" offers a decent watching experience for horror movie enthusiasts, but it fails to surpass the quality of the original film.
