Geology Editorial Review
**** The "Basic Well Log Analysis 2nd Edition" is generally well-received among readers looking to deepen their understanding of well-logging, particularly those in the petroleum engineering and geology fields. Many reviewers commend the text for being a foundational resource and a useful starting point for those unfamiliar with the subject. The book is appreciated for its clear presentation of the basics of well-log interpretation along with a wealth of graphs and reference charts that can aid professionals in the field for years to come. However, the feedback is not entirely positive. Some users express a desire for more comprehensive coverage, particularly in areas like shaly sand interpretation, suggesting that while the book serves as a solid introduction, it may not fully meet the needs of more advanced readers. There are also critiques regarding the exercises included at the end of the book; some users found them poorly implemented, leading to confusion due to discrepancies in the logs referenced. Overall, the text is a valuable resource for starters but could benefit from clearer explanations and better-organized exercises. **
