Drama Editorial Review
"Colette" is a biopic and period piece that centers around the life of French author Gabrielle Colette. Keira Knightley delivers a fantastic performance, portraying Colette's dive into independence and quest to become true to herself with confidence and resolution. The film is a refreshing break from period pieces that focus solely on cishet relationships and men. The movie's set and costumes are also noteworthy. However, some viewers were uncomfortable with the love scenes between Knightley and her co-star. Additionally, the movie may not be everyone's cup of tea, as some felt it was only decent and would not watch it again. Nevertheless, those interested in Colette's life or looking for a pretentious treat are sure to enjoy this film.
