- İçinde yaşadığımız göçler çağı, kendisine dair gerçekleriyle her gün karşımıza bir başka bilgiyi çıkarıyor. Bu çağa tanıklık etmek, pratiklerimizin ve bildiklerimizin güncellenmesini zorunlu kılıyor. Göç, içindeki tüm bilinmezlikleriyle ve keşfedilmeyi bekleyen dünyasıyla bizi peşinden sürüklüyor. 21. yüzyıl, savaşlar sebebiyle ülkesinden göç etmek zorunda kalan insanların sıkça konuşulduğu bir zaman dilimi oldu. Çağın tanıkları olarak bizler, karşılaştığımız bu göç dalgasını anlamlandırmak ve yorumlayabilmek için etrafımıza dikkatlice bakma gereksinimi duyuyoruz. Bu kitapta; göç olgusu ve göçün ana aktörü olan göçmenin hafıza ve mekan ilişkisi mevcut gerçeklikler içerisinde incelenmektedir. Yapılan mülakatlar sonucunda elde edilen verilerin analizi, göçmenin hayat hikayesi ve deneyimleri izleğinde sosyolojik perspektifle yorumlanmıştır. Göç sebepleri ve süreçleri, göçmenin hafıza ve mekan oluşturma pratikleri ele alınan temel konulardır. Hafızanın toplumsallığına ve bireyselliğine ek olarak Halbwachs'in Toplumsal Hafızanın Çerçeveleri kuramına göçmen hafızası üzerinden yaklaşılmıştır. Bu bağlamda hafıza teması içerisinde; yaşanan hafıza, işitilen hafıza ve travmatik hafıza ele alınırken, mekan teması içerisinde; mekan seçimi, mekan mukayesesi ve mekan hafızası ele alınmış, rüyalar ayrıca incelenerek hafıza-mekan arasındaki ilişki sosyolojik analize tabii tutulmuştur.
